» Fish Oil Lawsuit Raises Safety Questions

A lawsuit charges that many fish oil supplements contain harmful PCBs, but don’t throw out your pills just yet.

I feel obligated to post this since I’m such an advocate for Fish Oil pills.  The article explains that a lawsuit was filed against supplement companies for having too many contaminants however, the contaminant level in the pills was very low and the suit is to bring light to the supplement industry and how there need to be limits on the number of contaminants (which there are in Europe but not the US of course).

danaparker asked: i currently work out every day during the work week, and don't work out on sunday or saturday. is this an alright system or should i eliminate my rest days or move them to a day of the week and work out on the weekends? Or maybe work out every day?

This is fine as long as you are eating the same amount of calories on the weekends as you are the weekdays or if you are not looking to lose weight.  To be honest, I usually do the same thing, however when I want to lose weight, I workout on the weekends and watch what I eat.  I have a tendency to be an all or nothing dieter.  M-F I’m perfect. S-S I’m a lazy cookie monster.  This creates a yo-yo effect, and is not healthy.

Yes, I know I’m admitting this is me but I have the time to workout 1-2 hours a day M-F.  Most people do not and I’m not trying to lose weight really.

To help stay on track, try to do an activity on the weekend that is “fun” and requires exercise.  If you play a sport, try picking that up for an hour or two.  If you normally run, try going for a moderate paced walk.  Try a new exercise class like Zumba, or if you have access to a pool, go swimming.  Sign up for a race!  If you don’t, be aware of your BMR and don’t go over the calorie limit.

blahblahblahcherrie asked: Hey Sarah!
I'm 14 years old, and I was wondering if you could help me tone up my mid section. I need help, considering most exercise videos I can't do because I don't have the equipment, or don't have the space. I'd really appreciate help here!

In order to tone up your midsection you really don’t need any fancy weights!  Eating a clean diet (Think no processed foods, just things that come from the earth naturally) w/ some good old fashion cardio like 30-45 minutes of jogging 3-5 days a week.  After your cardio do 3 sets of holding a plank for 30 sec - 1 min and 30 bicycle crunches, you should see results quickly.

Here is a video of some of my and Katrina’s favorite exercises from over a year ago!
