The only reason I even cover this show is because the contestants always seem to lose weight and look great at the end of the show. Has the ability to market oneself as a reality star become an actual talent? Apparently so.

I love LifeHacker.com for many reasons. Here you’ll find out how to find out how many beats per minute your favorite songs are, and put the ones between 120 and 140 into the best exercise playlist possible. Studies have shown you tend to do better at your workouts when listening to music with between 120-140 BPM.

I love lentils so I decided to try and make them on my own. Let me start by saying, they are pretty difficult to work with, but I think my first attempt was a success.

First, did you know lentils have 10 g of protein a serving (which is just 150 calories)?!

I decided to make an Indian dish from scratch without a recipe, which might sound like quite the challenge but I gave it my all. I started out by sautéing garlic and onions. Then I added the lentils (1 cup) and two cups of water. I let them simmer for 30-45 minutes while adding in some ingredients here and there. Here is what I added:

Cayene Pepper

Paprika

Cumin

Curry

Onion Salt

Little bit of Ginger

Once I realized something was missing, the final addition that made the dish amazing was good old fashioned tomato paste (1/2 small can). I like to think that this dish was healthy but since I was adding as I went, I don’t have an exact recipe to share. I bet it was sorta high in salt but since I don’t eat too much, I’m not too worried personally.

Next time, I will take measurements of the ingredients. Did I basically make a typical Indian side dish and not know it?

Do you know anyone who creates customized Tumblr themes?

I want to do a redesign of Sarah Fit but last time I wasted too much time doing it myself and then...

Now that Fresh Diet is done, I’ve gone slightly Julia...

Now that Fresh Diet is done, I’ve gone slightly Julia Child in my household. I always forget to take pictures which may sound silly being the blog/vlog lady I am but here are a few snaps from my attempt at a healthier chicken parm. I loved the result but roomie wasn’t as impressed. Here is how I made the chicken cutlets.

Ingredients:

Organic Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs

2 Eggs

1 lb of Chicken Breasts

1/3 cup ground Flax Seed

Directions:

First I put the chicken into the flax seed dish, then dipped them into the egg, then into the bread crumbs. I preheated a skillet with cooking spray (but could have used more oil I guess), and pan fried each chicken for about 3 minutes on each side or until they looked done. I put them into a glass dish and covered with some marinara sauce. The cutlets were topped off with Mozzarella cheese and popped in the over at 350 for 25 minutes. They came out looking divine. I loved them.

For more recipes check out my food section!

*Roomie is a picky eater when it comes to “healthy” food. If it tastes like a short cut was made, it’s a “no like.” I personally loved the way it came out. The breading was crispy and delicious. I had the cutlets, sans tomato and cheese the next day with some honey mustard. Loved!
