ENABLING YOUR PASSION FOR HEALTHY LIVING

Surround Yourself with Positive People, Plus FREE SUNGLASSES

I used to work for a company that was toxic to my well being and personal success. They made me feel like everyone was going to “steal” my audience. Instead of helping others, they wanted to contain the potential success of who might be our future “rival”. This was a terrible lesson that I unfortunately was taught right out of college. One day, during one of our hour-long phone calls, my friend Katrina told me to “surround myself with positive and successful people.” If you keep them close, not only are you motivated to do better but you develop friendships and will want to help one another out down the road. This changed how I conducted my business entirely.

While in NYC, I was able to reconnect with Katrina and Karena, after communicating via email only for two years!

We had a couple of glasses of wine and caught up on our life happenings. This bit of advice Katrina shared with me has been one of the most influential business ideas I’ve carried over the last 4 years. The girls and their company, Tone It Up, are doing very well these days and I’m not surprised. They hosted their own meet up in Times Square that had a line wrapped around the entire Oakley store where it was held. I was lucky and got to sneak in for a quick picture before heading to Tortilla Flats with my Fitfluential ladies.

I totally look like the uptight New England preppy next to these California Babes, but I do love my outfit. Katrina wanted to do Charlie’s Angels and I had no idea what the girl in the middle is supposed to do so I just stood there.

My other favorite business mantra is that “There is plenty of room at the top.” Stress is underrated when it comes to our health. It puts a huge strain on our bodies. Comparing yourself and competing with others will only tire out your body. Some people will put on weight, while others will get physically ill, running themselves into the ground. Last week, I was able to build relationships with bloggers who many times are on the same campaigns that I am. I wish we all lived closer because we had so much in common and felt like old friends by the end of the week.

It was creepy yet kind of nice hanging out. We all knew way too much about one another for only meeting the first or second time because we all blog about our lives. I truly value the friendships that I’ve built over past few years and had I listened to the first piece of advice I was taught in the professional world, I never would have been able to embrace them. The Fitfluential community has been amazing to be a part of. I’m excited for future blogger meet ups and meeting some more of you who read my blog, but don’t write yourself. It just goes to show, don’t believe everything you hear.

FREE SUNGLASSES ALERT FROM DICK’S COTTONS

In honor of Memorial Day being just two weeks away, I’m giving out a brand spanking new pair of Dick’s Cottons sunglasses of your choice if you purchase the Tone It Up diet plan through SarahFit.com. I know many of you have been on the fence about buying the plan so I wanted to offer you something if you are unsure if it’s worth it. If you buy the plan through a link on my site, send me a quick email at sarah @ sarahfit (dot) com and let me know which pair you want. You can look at the different styles here.

You have until the Friday before Memorial Day (MAY 25th, 2012 at 11:59 PM EST)  to make your purchase decision but Rich (owner of Dick’s Cottons) told me that he was running low on the Ice styles, so if you know you want those, order soon! That’s it. You get the $59 sunglasses FREE. I’ve never had a single person tell me they regret buying the plan, and a little birdie may have told me, it’s in the works to get a huge makeover in the next few months. The best part about TIU and that once you buy it, you get all the updated versions for free as well.
