As many of you know by now, yesterday I was down in NYC for a photoshoot at Rodale, the parent company of Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Runner’s World, etc.  I have been dying to let you know why and now I can officially announce what is it.

I was chosen by Gatorade and Women’s Health to blog while training for the Urbanathlon series and setting new standards for what it means it be physically fit.  My chronicles will be featured in an exclusive G Fit Series Blog hosted by Gatorade and Women’s Health/Men’s Health Magazines.  The photoshoot is for promotional items, not in the magazine.  An image might pop up in the ads of the magazine but I’ll just have to wait and see.

I’m super excited about this opportunity because I have wanted to run the Urbanathlon since I first heard about it over 2 years ago!  It is a race that ranges from a 10K to 10 miles and features crazy obstacles like a 10 ft high wall you need to climb over.  Other obstacles feature stairs up stadiums, climbing over cars, and other insane yet exciting challenges.

Stay tuned for more details.  If you have been thinking about running this race, this year is definitely the year as they are adding one or two new locations.  Registration begins this month and I’ll let you know when it starts.

Also, Happy Cinco De Mayo!  If you are out celebrating, here are my go to drinks that keep your waist line in check!
