ENABLING YOUR PASSION FOR HEALTHY LIVING

We raised over $2000!

Last weekend, the Ultimate Spring Workout event I attended with PopChips raised over $2,000 combined for the One Fund Boston. The event was free for anyone in Boston to attend but in light of the recent attacks, we decided to put together a bunch of raffle prizes from all the vendors as I previously mentioned.

PopChips and Ultimate Bootcamp both pledges to donate $1 for every attendee up to 500 and the raffle tickets were $5 each. While the event had over 600 people come out, we raised just under $2000. I’m kind of surprised the raffle didn’t have more entries since the prizes were legit amazing including two pairs of Oakley Warm Up Sunglasses, a 3-day juice cleanse, workout packages and more!

In addition, I held my own push up challenge over at the PopChips tent! For every female that completed 20 non modified pushups, I pledged to donate $2 (40 push ups for the men) to the One Fund. I was expecting at least 250 people given the number of registrants but only got 27 people to accept the challenge! I think people were so busy enjoying the workouts that when it came time to do extra work, they were pooped or forgot to stop by. Little did people know that they missed trying some of the amazing new tortilla chips from PopChips in addition to donating someone else’s money. PopChips obviously is a national brand but they are really supportive when it comes to local companies and causes.

For a quick recap of the event and see what it actually looks like to see 600+ people working out in the middle of downtown Boston, check out my video below!

I decided to double the amount to donate to The One Fund since I was expecting so many more. There have been so many charitable events in the city over the past week and coming up this weekend including one at Recycle Studio and The Sports Club/LA tomorrow (Saturday) morning. This Thursday there is another being held by Boston Blog and Tweet at Cafeteria. Check out EventBrite for a list of opportunities to donate while enjoying your friends company, sweating or bidding on cool items.
