Procrastinator’s Guide Mother’s Day Gifts

For my first mother’s day, I’m not going to pretend like I deserve some huge present but I would like to have the day to do what I want and spend it with the people I care most about.

It’s not about gifts but let’s be honest, gifts are a nice way to show appreciation, right? Here are my favorite picks for Mother’s Day.

Custom Jewelry

Ever since I saw these at the Biggest Baby Shower, I’ve wanted one of these necklaces from Tiny Tags.

It’s a little late to order an engraved necklace, but you can buy something with just a first initial already made… hint hint (if only Nick read my blog), these can easily be found by going to your favorite store and looking for the Custom Jewelry Displays. I told him this is what I wanted in literally November but he thought I was kidding for some reason… men.

I also love the designer jewelry made by Erica Sara Designs. Again – it’s too late to order these now but some thing us moms can buy ourselves!

 At Home Massage Experience

Going to the Spa is so 2015… now the masseuse can come to you! You can gift massages through Zeel for the moms in your life and they can book a session at their convenience to work out the kinks and stress of having to be a responsible adult. If you are locally based near Boston, I also love Mass Mobile MassageFounded by Houston Bernard, former Army Master Fitness Trainer and certified trainer by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, this locally owned and operated business offers a personal approach to health + wellness. Their in-home (or in-office) chair and table massages are all conducted by licensed and insured massage therapists. They are running a $99 in home massage special for Mother’s Day!

At Home Facial Experience

I’m a huge fan of First Aid Beauty products. My go to cleanser is their Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay but what I’m really excited about is their new 5 in 1 Bouncy Mask. It’s basically a ten minute at home facial in a jar that gives you instant gratification. Your skin immediately appears more firm and smooth, a camera ready appearance in my opinion.First Aid Beauty

The 5 things the mask does is nourish, calm, firm, plump and refine. It’s called a bouncy mask because the gel texture molds to the contours of your face. I love facials but when you have to get a babysitter for every dentist, doctor, gym appointment, etc… some things take priority and if I can do it myself at home these days, that is what I do! It is formulated without sulfates, parabens or pthalates. It is also free of  artificial colorants and fragrances. It smells amazing, like cucumbers.

You can buy it now at your local Sephora for an on time gift!

Fresh Kicks

I’m a practical gift giver. I want people to need the gifts I give them. I personally want a new pair of jeans but that is not something I want Nick to buy for me! I do love however to gift of sneakers when it comes to practicality. If your mom is a baseball fan, you need to grab her a pair of these New Balance special edition Fenway Zante V2. They were made with Red Sox fans in mind and have custom rend and blue coloring, coupled with the “Fenway” and “Boston” splashed across the bottoms. It’s also a serious performance running shoe. It’s perfect for training or heading out for a day at the ball park. You can buy these at the New Balance store on Boylston Street in Boston.

Other last-minute ideas… that I may or may not have used in the past because I love to procrastinate…

Gym class gift card – As long as they don’t have a reoccurring membership at a studio, they will love this! Classes are expensive and it’s built in me time for them. You could buy them a 5 pack ClassPass for $65!

Mom + Me Day – This is more like an IOU. Get a card and in it, tell them that you have a special day planned to get your nails done and then lunch afterwards on you. I love these gifts because it allows you to spend quality time with your mom not just on Mother’s Day. It’s also a great gift for your sister who takes amazing care of your nieces and nephews.

Meal Prep Delivery Service – I’ve been telling you guys how much I love Just Add Cooking these days. Buying someone you love a week of meals is an affordable gift that essentials fulfills a need – for food and dinner to eat. You can buy them 3 dinners for just $39 using my promo code SarahFit at JustAddCooking.com.
