ENABLING YOUR PASSION FOR HEALTHY LIVING

New Motivation From Biggest Loser Danny

I know last night’s Biggest Loser special wasn’t new, but it was new to me.  As I watched the former winners gather for Thanksgiving, it occurred to me that many had gained weight back.  Notably, the only male that appeared to have not gain any back was Danny.  He had a quote on the episode that really hit home for me.  Although I don’t remember what it was exactly here is the gist:

The journey the contestants are on is like a race to lose weight.  Everyone crosses the finish line but you can’t stop at the finish line.  You have to keep going.

For those that follow my blog, you know that I on two occasions have lost 10 lbs in a matter of weeks.  I can do it and it’s something I do for “occasions” however the last time I did it, I gained the weight back within a week.  Just as fast as I lost, it came back.  It was a good reminder that even when you achieve your goal, you can’t and should not stop.  It also was a good reminder of why it’s important to lose weight slowly.*

*This is a reminder for all those who only diet for the first 2 weeks of January.  Losing weight or adapting a regular fitness routine is a marathon not a sprint if you want it to truly last!
