I’m thrilled that Spring has finally decided to arrive here in New England. Too bad it always seems so short. Winter and Summer are attention whores. Poor Spring and Fall don’t last long enough and never seem to receive the praise they deserve. The mild weather seasons are the best months in my opinion for outdoor exercise. It’s not too warm and not too cold. You don’t have to worry so much about what you are wear and you do not dread leaving the comfort of your home’s temperature (AC or Heat). Sadly, this ideal climate seems to last shorter than 6 weeks in Boston.
I challenge you to wake up 30 minutes early tomorrow morning and go for a 30-minute walk. This is a tip I learned from my gals at Tone It Up. I’m still not sure if their theory on doing this before breakfast is wise or not, see my posts on should you eat before your morning workout, but it does wake me up and create a more productive morning. The TIU ladies say this helps start your metabolism engine, I think it just awakens my body.
Last night’s dinner was my favorite go-to salad. Sauteed onions, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese and grilled chicken salad with balsamic vinaigrette. So easy to put together and so delicious!
For breakfast, I decided to try something new and am so happy I did. I layered my oatmeal with nonfat greek yogurt and topped it with some raw slivered almonds. I also had the 1/2 of the grapefruit I had yesterday. I’ll call this my breakfast parfait!
