Healthy Choice, 23andMe + More Women’s Health Product Reviews

Today’s post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.com on behalf of Single Edition Media. All thoughts and opinions are my own!

Rarely do I accept monthly boxes in exchange for a review but BabbleBox’s Women’s Health caught my eye. I probably should have looked more into it at first because it turns out it’s not a monthly box you subscribe to. BabbleBoxx is actually a company that partners with brands who want to promote their products through influencers. They combine products under one theme and ship them off for review to bloggers, Instagrammers, YouTubers and more.

I love this model and am not sure why I didn’t think of this first!

So before I left for London, I received a box in the mail on my doorstep featuring 4 different health related items. Today, I’m sharing those 4 products with all of you as I think you will love them as much as I do.

Healthy Choice Power Bowls

Growing up my mom used to buy Healthy Choice frozen meals. I haven’t tried one in a long time but recently was reintroduced the new modern recipes featuring power bowls. I love a good power bowl and was surprised by how much I liked this quick and easy option. Making good rice and my favorite power bowl sauce is time consuming.

Healthy Choice Power Bowl are made with a combination of nutrient-dense vegetables, proteins and whole grains catering to people living an active lifestyle. Meals are inspired by Korean, Cuban and Latin cuisines.

I tried the Adobo Chicken Bowl made with pulled all natural chicken breast (raised without antibiotics) with vegetables served on top of brown and red rice, red quinoa and black barley with a guajillo chili sauce topped with roasted pepitas. Each bowl has 16g of protein and 6-8 g of fiber in it. I loved how many vegetables there were.

We actually do not own a microwave so I had to heat this up in the oven but the bowl is made with plant based fiber instead of plastic which I love! Good-bye BPA. You can locate where to buy them by visiting HealthyChoice.com. So many good frozen options these days for those of us with little time or desire to cook a meal.

23andMe Ancestry Kit

If you want to learn about your ancestral origins, you have to take a DNA test. My brother started this trend in my family a few years ago and now my sister I have joined him. It’s fascinating to see the slight differences between us!

23andMe

The 23andme  Ancestry Kit can see how your DNA breaks out across 21 populations worldwide and can show you where your ancestors lived 500+ years ago. You can also see how each of your biological parents contributed to your Ancestry Composition.

You can also discover when different ancestries were introduced into your DNA. Here are two screenshots of my results.

It works by spitting into a tiny tube that you then ship off to a lab with prepaid postage. Six weeks later, your results are delivered to your inbox. I actually have new information updated every week so I’m constantly logging in to check out my new data or relative matches. You can order your own kit here at 23andme.com.

I did the Ancestry + Health kit (instead of the one pictured above) and am going to do a more dedicated post so stayed tuned if you are interested in this!

Mio SLICE Heart Rate + Activity Tracker Featuring PAI

I have tried a lot of activity trackers and my favorites have to be the ones that actually track your heart rate through your wrist and are wearable 24/7. The Mio SLICE Heart Rate + Activity Tracker Featuring PAI is an awesome option if you are in the market for a new one.

Here is why:

It tracks your heart rate the entire time you are wearing it without being invasive or clunky. It also tracks steps, distance, calories burned, resting heart rate as well as sleep. It’s water resistant in up to 100 feet as well.  Mio Slice

This fitness tracker links up to your Smart Phone and uses PAI for anaylsis, a scientifically-valdiated metric based on heart rate that tells you how much activity you need to live a longer, healthier life. The ideal goal is to maintain a PAI score of 100 or more over a rolling 7 days, and you can d this with all topics o activity even those that don’t include steps like biking, rowing and fitness classes. PAI is calculated based on age, gender, resting heart rate and maximum heart rate.

One totally new feature compared to any of my other activity trackers is that if connected to your phone using bluetooth, it even vibrates when you have an incoming phone call or text and even tells you who it is. This is awesome for moms or anyone who doesn’t carry their phone on them and doesn’t have or want an Apple watch (like me!).

ARM & HAMMER PeroxiCare Toothpaste

I have had a lot of work done on my mouth so I try to take extra good care of my teeth and maintain healthy gums. We just invested in an electric toothbrush and I don’t know why we waited so long! In addition to a good brush, your toothpaste is equally as important. I love this ARM & HAMMER PeroxiCare Toothpaste because my teeth just feel cleaner after I brush. You can tell it removes plaque because your teeth feel so smooth. It also helps maintain healthy gums by cleaning deep between teeth and along the gum line with the gentle power of baking soda.

There are always new companies coming in to help make life easier for you, me and companies who want to work with “influencers” too. While you can’t sign up for BabbleBoxx, I hope you enjoyed getting to learn a little more about these four that I really do love.
