Valentine’s Day Makeup Ideas

Yesterday, I got to Google Hang Out with Sonia Kashuk and the Target Inner Circle ladies. Sonia created a few looks for Valentines Day and we were in charge of asking her our beauty burning questions. Here is one of the looks she created for the romantic holiday.

Today, I uploaded a video to my YouTube  channel showing you guys what’s in my make up bag. I shot this video before the Hangout was scheduled. I recently invested a little  money in expensive make up brushes. You can see which one I got in the  video but to be honest, I do not love them. I asked Sonia if I should spend on brushes or makeup if i don’t want to spend on both and she recommended buying makeup that performs and will be picked up by the brush, synthetic for creams, natural hair for powders. So essentially, makeup first!

For the look above, I had to go to Target and grab items from her line which were all very reasonably priced. I was excited about the matte lip color stick and eye shadow brush set for under $20, the price tag of one of my “pro” brushes from Sephora.

Here is how to recreate Sonia’s look for a Romantic Date Night seen above:

Romantic Date Night
Step 1: Apply Perfecting Luminous Foundation with a damp Blending Sponge for a radiant, even complexion
Step 2: With the Chic Luminosity Bronzer/Blush Duo in Glisten, apply bronzer for tone and blush for brightness
Step 3: Using the Eye Couture in Eye On Neutral Shimmer, sweep shade #7 all over the lid to just beyond the crease, followed by shade #6 just below the crease blending color seamlessly.
Step 4: Take a Small Eye Shadow Brush and pack on shade #10 along the upper lash line, blending out.
Step 5: Using a Shader Brush place shade #12 directly at the upper lash line, extending the line slightly up at the outer corner. Continue down the lower lash line, keeping color light and smudged.
Step 6: Give your eyes that shut-down stare with Full Drama Eyelashes
Step 7: Color in lips with Velvety Matte Lip Crayon in Pinky Nude for kissable color that stays put. If you prefer shine, add a bit of Ultra Luxe Lip Gloss in Prettiest Pink on top.
Step 8: Mist on some Pink Innocencia Eau de Toilette for a delicately feminine scent

I haven’t tried the look yet myself because I bought them on Tuesday night, had the google hangout at 11am on Wednesday and was on a train to NYC at noon! I’ll instagram a picture tomorrow night.

Sexy Date Night

Step 1: Apply Perfecting Luminous Foundation with a Pointed Foundation Brush for a radiant, even complexion
Step 2: Swirl Crème Blush in Petal on the apples of the cheek for a dewy flush
Step 3: Dust on Chic Luminosity Bronzer for tone and a healthy glow
Step 4: Swipe Chic Luminosity Highlighter Stick in Persian Sunset along the highs of the cheek bone
Step 5: Using the Instant Smokey Eye Brush Set and shades #11 & #12 from Eye Couture in Eye On Neutral Matte create a classic smokey eye, gradiating darker towards the lash line.
Step 6: Rim the inner eye with Twist Up Longwear Eyeliner in Black Onyx along the upper and lower waterline. Line the upper lash line to increase intensity.
Step 7: Use a Smudge Brush with shade #12 to smoke out the liner along the lower lash line and pack on depth at the upper lash line.
Step 8: Apply Full Volume Eyelashes for added sultry drama
Step 9: Finish the look with Shine Luxe Sheer Lip Color in Sheer Pink Lust for an irresistible pink pout
Step 10: Spritz on some Red Promisia Eau de Toilette for a voluptuously seductive scent!

Glam Girls Night
Step 1: Spot treat imperfections with Undetectable Foundation Stick
Step 2: Using Undetectable Crème Bronzer contour the hollows of the cheek for a chiseled effect
Step 3: Take a Small Duo Fiber Multipurpose Brush  and mix a bit of Perfecting Translucent Illuminator with Crème Blush in Blossom and apply to the highs of the cheek bone for brightness
Step 4: Sweep the brown shade fromEye Quad in Showstoppers over the entire lid, working the black shade into the outer corner of the crease.
Step 5: Pack on a mix of the gold and white shade to the middle of the lid for a gilded effect.
Step 6: Line the upper lash line with Dramatically Defining Liquid Eyeliner. Keep the lower lash line clean.
Step 7: Use Full Glam Eyelashes for truly show-stopping eyes
Step 8: Swipe on some Satin Luxe Lip Color in Classic Red for a chic, statement lip
Step 9: Put on some Purple Seductia Eau de Toilette for a daringly glamorous scent!
During the hangout, I also asked Sonia about foundation. She loves her perfecting luminous foundation because she believes our skin has a natural glow, making matte colors look unnatural. I also asked about contouring and she suggested a bronzer stick, starting up near the cheek bone and following it down toward the corner of your lips for a natural look.

  24. My favorite look is the Sexy date night look. I’m always good for a subtle brown smoky eye and big lashes! My favorite mascara to use for sexy lashes is Too Faces Better Than Sex Mascara and an oldie that I am new to which is the L’oreal Voluminous Mascara.

  191. i love the sexy date its hard for me to apply makeup every day with being a working mom and not feeling up to it , waking up earlier than expected to apply makeup but i do apply make up when my husband and i decide to have a date night . the sexy date look is the one i loved .
