The Final Days of Summer: Danskin Now Review

Today’s post is brought to you by my friends from Danskin Now. If you enjoy a good deal as much as I do, you’ll enjoy reading this one.

I can’t believe by the end of the week, it will officially be fall! Last weekend, I went on a little shopping spree for Tommy buying clothes that would fit and be warm enough for cooler temperatures, however, it still feels like summer. We are enjoying the last few days of warm weather.

It’s crazy how cheap you can buy cute kids clothing, right? Shirts for $7, pants for $10, it feels almost too good to be true when you see the total amount (considering how much you just bought.)

I didn’t think these kinds of prices existed for adults, but they do! You just have to know where to find the cute stuff. I went on my own little shopping spree to update my fitness wardrobe and discovered a few keepers that were the same price or cheaper than Tommy’s tops!

The top above is made by Danskin Now and was only $6.96 at Wal-Mart. The Women’s Active Performance Mesh Tank  is light weight and semi-fitted. It’s made with a mesh material that stretches slightly when you move and is breathable. It comes in a variety of bright colors too that look great on camera!

Regardless of the season, I’m a tank top girl when it comes to working out. I hate sleeves if I’m sweating. Luckily, most people do too so workout tanks are pretty easy to come by all year long.

A Little Motivation Trick

On most mornings, I put on workout clothes. It’s one of the few things I do to motivate myself to workout. I am still breastfeeding, so it’s helpful when I can nurse in my sports bras. Putting one of these on is half the battle when it comes to getting dressed for the gym. This bra is great for being able to nurse and workout.

It doesn’t un-clip or anything, but it’s stretchy enough that I can pull it up or down for easy access to Tommy’s milk supply. This Active Seemless Mesh Back Cami bra is only $8 and works best for low impact workouts like Pilates or Yoga, as well as running errands and taking care of Tommy.

Some days, I may not make it to the gym and my workout is chasing around this guy, who loves to climb the stairs. Stupid mommy and daddy have yet to formally child proof the house but we let him get his own workout in with supervision.

We are truly a fit household. Tommy weighs 23 lbs and it is a workout bringing him up stairs so it’s nice that he can kinda do it himself now! Picking something up while holding him is what really keeps my glutes in shape. We go on walks and do other things around the city and for this reason, I’m in workout gear most days even when I don’t hit the gym.

The top seen above was only $9 at Wal-Mart and has a built-in sports bra. The Active Performance Tank and Strappy Back is my favorite of the bunch I grabbed from the Danskin Now line. It combines style, comfort and performance. Made with moisture wicking fabric, it keeps me cool too on warm days.

Taking care of an 8 month old full-time feels like a workout these days and I’m finding that I need more rest days. I’m scared of what’s to come but can’t wait in the best way possible.

If you’re spending all your money on new toys, car seats, child care and more on your little one, you don’t have to feel bad buying something for yourself when it’s as affordable as the Danskin Now line.

When I was just taking a look at some of their newer items, I noticed that they carry maternity workout clothes, too! I was so reluctant to buy maternity workout gear because it was expensive and I didn’t know how much use I’d get out of it. I totally would have spent $10-15 on tops and bottoms to feel comfortable and confident. Have you tried out the stylish and affordable Danskin Now line yet?
