This sweet and satisfying energy ball recipe is perfect for a mid afternoon pick me up or something sweet after lunch to conquer your sweet tooth with a clean treat. It’s a no bake, vegetarian raw treat as well that takes 30 minutes to make.
Chocolate-Almond Butter Balls
Ingredients:
1/3 cup almond butter
1/3 cup honey
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 Tbs. Perfect Fit Protein Powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbs. coconut oil
1 cup hemp seeds
1/2 cup cacao powder
Instructions:
Slowly heat the coconut oil in a double broiler or metal bowl on top of a hot pot of water. It’s 76F in my house and my coconut oil has been in liquid form all summer long, so I got to skip this step. Woohoo for no AC. In a large bowl, mix together the butter, honey, salt, Perfect Fit and cinnamon. Add melted oil and stir to incorporate thoroughly. Mix in hemp seeds until well blended. Place mixture in the fridge to set for 30 minutes. Roll into 1 inch balls. Then roll in cacao powder. I used cocoa powder which is essentially the same thing. Enjoy!
I weighed out my almond butter using a scale. Hemp seeds are a great vegan option for adding protein into your meals. A 3 Tbs. serving has 10 g of protein.
The recipe makes 16 servings, but since my balls were a little smaller, my batch made 21. A single serving is 2-3 balls and ideally consumed for meals 3 or 4 on the Tone It Up diet plan.

Hi Sarah, just curious. Why are you pushing tone it up so hard? Do you get a kickback from it or because youre friends with Kat? 🙂
Hey Maria, a few reasons… the first is yes I’m friends with Kat. She sent me the plan from day 1 and I loved it. I thought it was fabulous and why I haven’t created my own plan. Why mess with the best, right? I used to be an affiliate, which I disclosed on here, but currently am not. It doesn’t effect me if one or none of my readers buy the plan. I want to help young women learn how to eat clean and get fit so they can feel confident about the way they look without depriving themselves of a social life. The TIU plan, I think, allows you to achieve this. As a result, I signed on in February to go from affiliate to ambassador like with Laughing Cow so that I could share the program as a member/fan of product and not an affiliate looking for the most sales. I disclose my current partnerships as they happen on my blog and in my “about me” page which is located at the top in my nav bar.
Hi Sarah!
Thank you SO much for the full disclosure and honesty, I am a huge fan of yours and this is definitely one of the reasons why.
I was genuinely just curious about your affiliation with Tone It Up and nothing negative was intended. I follow a lot of your advice to a T because you are extremely knowledgeable. I am a TIU girl myself and agree that it is a fantastic plan.
Thanks again for everything you do!
Hi Sarah,
love me some TIU 🙂 I am a member too and I love it. I didn’t see your post as “pushing it”. Their recipes are very good, so why not share? My question is, do you have any other uses for the hemp seeds? I have never bought them but I am curious. I am assuming you can add them to muffins, protein pancakes and such?
Smoothies and salad 🙂
My question to Sarah did not have any negative undertones, I am a huge fan of hers. Another use for hemp seeds are to sprinkle them into your morning or greek yogurt. Enjoy.
Delicious!! Really easy to do, what a perfect snack! Thank you
Hi Sarah.
Thank you for sharing the delicious recipes. I was wondering if I could substitute Truvia for honey and if so, how much. I have cut almost all the sugar out of my diet (without using artificial sweetners)
I really enjoy you workout videos.
Thank you .
