ENABLING YOUR PASSION FOR HEALTHY LIVING

Grocery Guide: Super Market Haul Video

Per my viewers request, I shot a grocery store haul YouTube video before I left for Los Angeles at a large Super Market. Within one minute of walking inside, we were asked to stop by an employee! I asked who I could talk to for permission and when the worker couldn’t locate the authority figure, he simply said, “Just don’t say/show where you are.” Deal.

Knowing what to buy can be overwhelming. Sometimes even I will buy a product and not realize until I’ve brought it home that it has a few ingredients I typically avoid. I love showing you guys my favorite products and this video is like literally walking down the aisles with me.

A friend of mine recently went gluten-free to treat her arthritis. She has been asking me for good product recommendations and while I do try to eat gluten-free most of the time, I can afford a slip up and have realized I need to educate myself better on this subject. Last month, I joined the Udi’s Gluten Free Community as an ambassador representing people who do not have an allergy, but prefer to avoid processed wheat products by using gluten-free alternatives. This grocery store haul isn’t dedicated entirely to gluten-free products but most of them are naturally g-free!

Tonight at 9pm EST, I am hosting a live twitter chat with 3 of the other Udi’s ambassadors to talk about Valentine’s Day! I’m looking forward to a fun conversation about your own holiday traditions, recipes, crafts as well as heart-healthy/gluten-free tips. We will also be giving away 6 prize packs of delicious Udi’s Gluten Free treats including double chocolate muffins, snicker doodles, dark chocolate brownie bites, chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon raisin bread & cranberry granola! To join, follow #gfcommunity on at 9pm. Chime in and win a prize which will be given out every ten minutes! More details here.

Here is a snap shot of my gluten-free lunch this afternoon in Sherman Oaks where I saw my doppleganger Beverly Mitchell! Everybody on YouTube always tells me I look just like her. Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring myself to ask for a picture since she was pregnant and didn’t appear to have any makeup on. I had just finished a class at CorePower and my face was still red and blotchy as well.

CHopped Kale Salad

This was a chopped kale salad with chicken, roasted red peppers, pepperocini, chickpeas, provolone, celery and Italian vinaigrette. So good.

This is my second celebrity sighting that I’ve wimped out on getting a picture with. I prefer to leave them alone but now really wish I hadn’t. Ugh. Have you ever asked a celebrity to take a picture with you in public?
