Happy Blueberry Protein Pancake

Are you ready for some football?  I am!  Tonight is the season opener for the Patriots!  I will, however be at a meeting for the Junior League 🙁  So this morning I started off with a yummy protein pancake after my 30 minute booty call run.  I added blueberries and hemp from Happy Hemp to the already delicious and perfect recipe.  I just don’t get sick of these things!

I have found that when I use real egg whites vs the kind that come in a container, the pancake is much fluffier.  I also have been adding 1 TBSP of almond milk.  When I use my immersion blender it make the pancake batter frothy, thus creating an even bigger and fluffier pancake.

I’m still not sure how I managed to become addicted to something so healthy.  At around 200 calories and 20 g of protein, I would pay good money for this at a restaurant.  I’m very excited about the new Tone It Up fall recipe for a pumpkin pancake.  I will be sure to post the recipe soon!

What is your breakfast go to?

Also, in cased you missed it, this weekend the College Diet Plan went live!  If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s not too late, there are still a few t-shirts left but going fast!

both! After I pour the batter into the pan, I add a few and press them into the pancake, then I top it with a few more 🙂 If i dn’t have fresh ones, frozen ones work really good too if you put them into the batter.

I actually just shot a video of the protein pancake! I wont be up for another week or so but will be up soon -- did you mean can I make it without protein powder? If that is your question, the powder is kind of the main ingredient -- the banana you can swap out and you can use other kinds of protein powder like hemp, rice or soy but I prefer Whey.

Breakfast: About 1 quart lowfat vanilla yogurt with a handful of blueberries/raspberries/dried cranberries and about 1/2 cup of Grape Nuts. Wash it down with 2 cups of 1% Horizon milk. Plenty of protein and calories.

    Hi Sarah,

Recently, for a change…..my go to breakfast has been……cream of wheat. I make 2 servings, (because 1 is not enough) with water according to directions, then after its cooked I add some wheat germ and a smidge of brown sugar, and almond milk. Delish. For protein, I make a Jay Robb protein shake with water. That breakfast combination is so filling, and lasts in the tummy for a good 4 hours.

These were AMAZING! I used raspberries in place of blueberries and they did not turn out as pretty as yours but I thought they were delicious and far better than boxed mix kind.

You can use 1/3 cup of canned pumpkin or applesauce. For a less sweet version use already cooked steel cut oatmeal. Add maple syrup if you like it sweeter!

Hey Sarah! I tried the blueberry pancakes this morning after my work out and they were so yummy! I went out yesterday and bought the whey protien by Jay Robb you suggested, and it is so good.I also tried some of your work out videos yesterday, and i love them! Ill definitely be viewing those a lot. I was wondering, if i am trying to lose weight, will the whey protien help with that? I am going to make your smoothie recipe tommorow after i go on the eliptical! I have been going to the gym almost every morning, and do the eliptical around 45-50 minutes , and i sometimes walk on the treadmill, i am not a good runner, and have been trying to eat well! i have lost some inches and pounds around my waist, and just wondering if you have any tips with my goal!

I’d love to see the recipe too because it does look delicious, but can’t seem to find it. Is there something I’m missing?
