Charity Workout To Benefit Breast 2

As you guys know, this October 12 I will be running the Chicago Marathon on behalf of Susan G. Komen. 

Komen is dedicated to curing breast cancer at every stage – from the causes, to the cures, to the pain and anxiety of every moment in between. I will be running the marathon with a fellow breast cancer survivor who is the same age as I am. She is running just 12 months after her final chemo treatment.

While I know you all think I’m some sort of super athlete, this is actually my first marathon! I am trying to raise $1500 before the race in October. While I am 50% of the way there, I need your help to reach it and would love for you to come take a class that I am leading at Burn Fitness Studios (547 Colubus Ave) in the South End this Sunday, September 28th at 4pm.

The class is going to be the same format as the Power classes at Burn if you have been before. If you are an Equinox member, it’s like Stacked but if not, here is the gist:

Class is broken up into 3 sections, lower body, upper body and core. With each circuit, we start with one exercise for 30 seconds. You then get a 30-second rest and I introduce move #2. Then, you do move #1 followed by move #2 without resting in between. Next is another 30-second rest where I show you the 3rd move. Then you do exercise #1, #2, and finally #3 – all 30 seconds each without resting. We add on an exercise each round until we reach 6 moves. At that time, you get a longer break and then we start from scratch with the upper body and then core. It goes by FAST and is appropriate for all levels. I’m not bringing out the guns for my charity class but all levels will feel challenged as I give modifications and advanced options for each move.

Some of my friends like Essentia will also be there so expect some free goodies 🙂 I hope to see you there. This is a rare opportunity to take a class with me on a weekend as I never teach classes on Sunday or Saturday! Excited to meet and see many of you.
