ENABLING YOUR PASSION FOR HEALTHY LIVING

Three Big Deal Announcements (for me)

I’ve been keeping a few secrets from you guys for the past few months. I am terrible at keeping them so it has been very difficult. Instead of having an “Oh my gosh, big announcement tomorrow” hint three different times, I’m skipping the stupid teasers and just going to come out and blurt them out all at once.

#1. I got a book deal!

While I’ve mentioned this in the past through comments, I have never officially announced it. I just handed in the first part of the book and could not be more excited. We are shooting the images for the exercises in two weeks so I’m tying to lay off the cupcakes and wine. So, what the heck is my book about? The title is “Get Skinny Again,” (gotta love the publishing industry) and it’s geared towards young women (high school, college, young professional or simply just new to fitness) who want to lose 5-25 lbs. It is something I am very proud of and would have died to get my hands on something like it when I was in college discovering how to effectively exercise to get back to my weight in High School. It basically gives you a ton of workouts that you can do at home, at the gym and outside depending on your preference and time constraints. It also includes a my go to recipes that are inexpensive, minimal ingredients, easy to make (even in a dorm room or small apartment) as well as what to eat/drink while socializing with your friends. It’s perfect for beginners and advanced fitness enthusiasts. You can pre-order a copy on Amazon or Barnes and Noble today if you would like but it will not be ready until December 10th.

#2. I am now part of Target’s Inner Circle.

1622-3_Target_InnerCircleLogo_v2Target has been one of my favorite stores for years now. I always joke around that you can’t go in and stick to your list. Each visit costs me at least $100. From trail mix to bars, to fashion and home decor, I can go wild. I was asked to join their exclusive club of bloggers called the Target Inner Circle for inside access into what goes on behind the bulls eye brand. I will be getting a sneak peak at new campaigns, travel to various locations for Target events, interview designers and getting to meet with their select curators for lessons on everything from how to do my makeup on camera, updating my living room so it can double as my YouTube set to showing you flattering trends for your body type. I’m excited to be joining Gina from Skinny Taste, one of my favorite recipe blogs, and the rest of the circle who I have not met but adore from afar. I’m one of 4 newbies that was recently invited to join the crew!

#3. I left Diet.com.

Some of you may have noticed that for the past couple of weeks, I have not been in the diet.com videos. Some of you might not have even realized I still shot and edited their videos. Since 2006, I have pretty much produced at least one video a week for the DietHealth channel. I am a loyal worker and just couldn’t bring myself to leave. Working part time for them as a contractor after 3 years as a full time employee was what allowed me to start my blog and own channel. As a result of my own channel’s success and various deals (see #2 & #1), I just didn’t have the time anymore. The split was amicable. I wish them the best of luck.
