Running without Sneakers?
The 2nd most emailed article today on Boston.com is one about running barefoot and how it’s supposedly better for you. I have heard this argument before but the reason why I will probably never transition lies in the end on the article:
“Runners should transition gradually, because calf and foot muscles will need to build up to avoid injury. Barefoot runners must build up calluses to deal with terrain and avoid running on obvious hazards. Lieberman noted that acorns are a big enemy.”
Also among enemies I would not like to encounter, dog shidooby.
