Week in Workouts + A Total Body 20 Minute Workout

Like every week, this one just seemed to fly by. The warm weather, the short work week, and tons of events had me busy running around the city.

On Monday and Tuesday, I laid low because Tommy wasn’t feeling well which meant no workout and minimal work. I went to the opening party at by CHLOE. in the Seaport district on Tuesday night which had me very excited for human interaction.

I get invited to these opening parties in Boston but rarely get to go because I do not have anyone to watch Tommy and Nick can’t always get home in time. Now that I don’t need to nurse Tommy to bed, I’m trying to go to more work events.

Wednesday morning, I went to BTone before Nick left for work with Nicole. Her ab series is always killer. I’ve been enjoying morning workouts between Tommy getting up and Nick leaving for work. I’m trying to do it about once a week.

On Thursday, I brought Tommy to spin class at Recycle Studio. He has been going since he was 6 weeks old and loves the girls that watch him. It’s funny now to think back on how nervous I would be at the end of class to see how he did.
After his morning nap, we headed over to Beacon Hill so I could try on a few tops from Crane & Lion. I am getting ready for an upcoming shoot and needed to swap sizes. C&L is a local athletic brand and I love their stuff. The crop top is a size 6 and the 7/8 length pants I got were a 4.

It’s been unseasonably warm here in Boston and I was trying to spend as much time as I could outdoors which inevitably meant, less work. When you have a child, the last thing you want to do is keep them inside and letting them run free is fun to observe. The time has come for me to hire someone to watch him during the afternoons so I can work but I just can’t get over how fun it is to see him walk on his two little feet outside.

Today, was equally as gorgeous. I brought T to the park before his morning nap and after which allowed for about 45 minutes of work. I went to the gym to fit in a 30 minute HIIT workout. I did each move for 50 seconds, 2 rounds total. I used a pair of 15 lb dumbbells for the deadlift/lunge and step ups.

  1. Deadlift to Reverse Lunge (Right, then Left)
  2. Side Plank (Right, then Left)
  3. Push Ups
  4. Jumping Jacks
  5. Hip Lifts
  6. Toe Taps
  7. Step Ups (Right, then Left)
  8. Squat Jumps
  9. Tricep Dips
  10. Burpees
  11. Mountain Climbers

It wasn’t the most challenging workout but a good sweat. Afterwards, we came home and then headed to my sisters in the suburbs for some more outdoor action.

It’s going to be warm again tomorrow and I’m debating if I should attempt to bring Tommy for a run in our jogging stroller. He is 26 lbs (still) and it’s really hard to push it! I thought I NEEDED a jogging stroller and I find myself always looking for an excuse not to bring him with me! But how can I resort to the treadmill tomorrow if it’s so nice out!?

Any other mamas out there have a jogging stroller and dread pushing their child in it?
