While in California for work, I was able to meet up with one of my college roommates, Cher! After the Tone It Up Cocktail Party in Manhattan Beach, I hopped in my rental and drove down for an overnight visit. In the morning, we took a long walk and explored the town a little bit.
Cher knows me and brought me to this cute little coffee shop, where I grabbed a fruit and yogurt parfait. I love west coast shops. They always seem to have options that are healthier than typical muffins and bagels.
Cher is also a jewelry artist. She used to make all her own jewelry in college, which I was obsessed with! She sells her stuff on Etsy and in small Cali boutiques. I saw this ring on the kitchen counter top and snapped a few pictures since I thought it was gorgeous. Her stuff is very coastal, handmade and original. You can check out her shop Kula Kai here.
On our long walk, we went to the beach and saw the peninsula and harbor, plus plenty of large beach homes.
I can’t imagine living in a place like this. I don’t think I could work ever! I’ll post more about the TIU cocktail party tomorrow but gotta get some sleep before my early call time. I’m shooting an online video for T-Mobile out here before flying back to Boston for wedding in Vermont. It’s been a busy summer and I’m looking forward to a laid back fall (plus Fitbloggin and 1/2 marathons…)
