Do you believe in Astrology? Wellness Retreat In Boston

This past Sunday, I attended the Wellness by the Water retreat in Boston at the Lenox Hotel. When Tina and I ran into Kendall at Life Alive, she told us about the event she her friend Crystal put on every few months, we both were eager to attend. The agenda included a bootcamp, yoga, lunch and a variety of spa like treatments. It was a perfect event for a group of girlfriend to attend together!IMG 9599

After Kendall and Crystal welcomed us, we had a quick 30 minute bootcamp. I’m not a huge bootcamp fan but was really looking forward to the yoga taught by Kendall. My hips are always so tight. The twisting felt great and Kendalls voice was so calm and soothing, I felt completely relaxed.

I was excited to try out my new sticky yoga mat that I got at the Oakley retreat! I made Tina smile in the picture.

After yoga, we headed downstairs to City Table for a nutrition talk from Kendall, who is an IIN graduate, and enjoy a nutrition lunch. The talk made me even more excited for my program which started this week.

We had a beet salad with goat cheese and salmon entree. I devoured both.

The salmon came with a roasted Ratatouille that was amazing. I wish there was more of that. It was topped with panko crumbs.

After lunch, we went back into the ball room for our spa like treatments. I was scheduled for Acupuncture, Style and Massage. Can you guess which I was the most excited about. This was the 3rd time I’ve tried acupuncture and it was the 1st time it kinda hurt. Not sure I’m a fan anymore. It kinda made me relax a little but with just 2 in the ear it really can’t do much. I’ll still give it a full on try but this was my least pleasant experience.

Next was style. I’m terrible it putting things together. Unfortunately, the stylist suggested this romper ensemble as a way to just “chill and hang out. Not going anywhere special.” I was a little disappointed to be honest. I wish the stylist would have showed us ways that were a little less funky. The shoes by the way, are Reebok! IMG 9603

The best part of my day was the amazing massage I got by Frances who works at Body Waves. It was amazing! I told her I was an “athlete” or rather wanted an athletes massage because I was so tight and she delivered! One of my readers, Mary Kate, had mentioned my name to Frances so when I mentioned what I did, she was like “Oh, are you Sarah Fit?” That question always sounds funny to me but it was chatting. Normally, I like to be quiet but I talked the entire 30 minutes. If you live in Boston, they are offering a $59 for 60 minute massage special! A very good deal if you are familiar with Boston prices.

I also crashed the Astro Therapy table. I have never seen a psychic but it was really fun to hear about how in line my personality is with my horoscope. She said a few things that touched home and made me think a lot. Have you ever had anything like this before? Were they spot on or totally different? I love astrology but don’t entirely buy into it. I’ve yet to go to a medium but think it might be a fun experience.
