Fall Fitness Happenings in Boston

We are a fit city, that is for sure! I’m constantly amazed by all the fun, creative offerings and how many are FREE. Here is a list of all the fun stuff to do in the city over the next few months. I’ll be updating this list as I learn about more events so feel free to share your own in the comments.

Bike & Brew, Aug 27th

Legacy Place invites fitness and beer lovers to sweat it out for a good cause with Bike & Brew, a charity ride with indoor cycling leader SoulCycle, followed by bites and sips from Harpoon Brewery and Whole Foods MarketBike & Brew will take place Sunday, August 27 at 2:00pm. All proceeds benefit Best Buddies. SoulCycle is located at 214 Legacy Pl, Dedham, MA 02026. www.legacyplace.com

Tickets for Bike & Brew are $30 and include a 45-minute SoulCycle ride, two beers, and light bites. Participants must be 21+ to attend. Capacity is limited; tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.

The Tone It Up Tour, Sept 9th

Many of you know that Katrina was once a trainer at my Watertown BSC who I asked to be in my YouTube videos back in 2006! Since then, she’s managed to build a fitness empire with best bud Karena and they are coming back to Boston to host a festival.

Work out with K&K, CorePower Yoga, and special guest Jillian Michaels. You’ll also enjoy live DJ Madds, activities, beauty, top brands, giveaways and so many surprises including an official Tour Bag.

The Boston stop is on September 9th at 12pm until 5pm. Tickets are pricey at $110 for general admission and $260 for VIP passes that include a meet and greet with the ladies.

Boston Social Fitness, Sept 16th

The Boston Social Fitness Festival, hosted by Mayor Martin J. Walsh and presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA, is a FREE day-long celebration of getting Boston moving. Come join in the fun on Saturday, Sept. 16 on City Hall.

This all day FREE event features daybreaker yoga, CrossFit to spin classes held by handle bar, as well as anti-gravity Aerial yoga, a “dance mile” and more! Check out all the offerings here – and remember to reserve your spot on August 30th for each class you want to take.

Seaport Sweat Series – Ongoing

Seaport Sweat has a TON of FREE classes every week, with a live DJ! They’re hosted right next to Gather/District Hall in the Seaport Common. Oh Baby! Fitness Stroller Workouts, Every Wed + Sat until Sept 30th 9am

Derby Street Shoppes’ wildly popular Derby Street Sweat fitness series continues with another round of Rev’d spin classes. The locally-loved studio will teach six outdoor classes from August 23rd through August 25th, with evening classes featuring a live DJ. Derby Street Shoppes will also continue its complimentary Oh Baby! Fitness Stroller Workouts through the end of September. 

Oh Baby! Fitness Stroller Workout is a full-body boot camp class, modified for women with small children in strollers. Space is limited; guests can RSVP here. The class meets outside The Paper Store. Derby Street Shoppes is located at 98 Derby Street, Hingham, MA. www.thederbystreetshoppes.com

Yoga on The Green at The Street in Chestnut Hill, every Sat Through Oct 1

This free yoga class is at 9:30 am. The Street has partnered with different yoga gurus for each session of Yoga on The Green, with every instructor bringing their distinct style to class on Sundays.

 Kick It By Eliza on The Street in Chestnut Hill

Every Tuesday, The Street hosts one Boston area’s favorite fitness programs, Kick It By Eliza.

On August 29 and September 26, the high-energy cardio kickboxing class will be amplified by a live DJ starting at 7 pm and FREE!.

Summertime Savasana, Yoga Under the Stars, Wednesday Sept 20, The Street in Chestnut Hill

The Street will host Summertime SavasanaYoga Under the Stars, an outdoor evening yoga flow led by YogaWorks, on The Mews on September 20. Guests are required to bring their own mat and are encouraged to sign up on Eventbrite to reserve their spot; a link will be available in the coming weeks.
