As you all know, I love my green juice and the occasional 3-day juice cleanse. During my visits to LA, I always swing by Pressed Juicery to pick up a bottle or two. What impresses me the most with their brand is that there are so many different kinds of juices.
They have 6 different green, 6 different citrus, 4 root combinations, 6 fruit varieties, 5 nut milks (2 made with coffee) and at least 2 or 4 seasonal blends! Their nut milks are made without agave, just dates or coconut, vanilla or cacao and either salt or cinnamon. I wanted to try their three day cleanse out of curiosity ever since I discovered their brand.
After 8 trips across the country and one fabulous birthday, my body was craving margaritas instead of water. It time to finally take the plunge and try a 3-day with Pressed Juicery. You can choose your juices but I went with the preplanned ones. You can choose between 3 cleanse and for 1, 3 or 5 days. I chose cleanse 2 for 3 days. Cleanse 1 is for first timers and athletes with 2 nut milks, cleanse 3 is for intense cleansers which is too low cal for my lifestyle. Mine came with 2 greens, 2 citrus, 1 root, and a nut milk. It also came with 2 waters, one with chlorophyll and one with aloe vera to aid digestion and raise alkaline levels. It was delivered around 10 am via FedEx on a Tuesday. I started the next day and the juices were fine on my third day but they do say to consume within three days meaning they are NOT flash pasteurized.
Each flavor tasted very different and I actually looked forward to drinking them! I sipped the chlorophyll water throughout the day and the aloe vera before bed. The roots 3 made with apple, lemon, beet and ginger was spicy in a good way, tasting almost like I was enjoying a cocktail. I powered through booking keeping and recording my receipts from my travels.
I’m obsessed with pineapple and mint so citrus 2 below was a favorite that I didn’t expect to be honest. The bottles also had nutrition labels which was nice. I was surprised some of them had a few grams of protein.
My favorite hands down however was my nut milk which tasted like a vanilla milkshake. I looked forward to it starting at 11 am. This was the first time I was able to actually do a full cleanse without cheating once. No gum, no caffeine, no small nibbles of avocado, nothing! I didn’t workout like I normally do but I did take a 45 minutes Pilates class the first day, a 60 minute Core Fusion class the second and a gentle Core Fusion Yoga class the third.
My energy dipped on Friday, day 3, around 3 pm. It was hard to concentrate and I was tired but couldn’t take a break because I shit to do. I did not do the cleanse to lose weight, most of it is water, but if you are interested I did lose 6 pounds. Three came back by Monday but the other three have stayed off!
Alcohol cravings were successfully gone. Sugar cravings are way down and I haven’t had the desire to eat meat once, or consume caffeine. I woke up on my own today at 6:30 am. That never happens. I feel like the “weight” that I lost was just toxins and other crap my body was holding on to.
I do not do juice cleanses to lose weight, I do them to reset my body. I am a work hard/play hard girl. I hate that saying but it’s true. I like to have my fun but knowing my job (and the critics on YouTube), I also am willing to go to the extreme to undo the damage. Yes, moderation is always an option but I’m an all or nothing kind of person so this works for me. Juicing is not for everyone. I do not think you need to do it. I like it and that is that. I enjoy how I feel during and after the process. It does what I want it to do and that is reset my appetite, cravings and energy levels.

I’ve never done a juice cleanse before because I’d be scared that I would end up too low energy. That’s just not an option for me, as I teach group fitness classes nearly everyday and need to move around a lot.
Did you wake up hungry in the middle of the night? Did you ever get a full feeling? Have you ever looked into how cleansing affects the metabolism afterwards?
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I love how honest you are about your reasons for doing the cleanse and how you don’t think people NEED to do it. I feel like I’ve read so many juice cleanse reviews that tell people it’s such a good idea and everyone should do it but it’s really about knowing what works for you. I admire your dedication to your work knowing that you do still enjoy yourself.
I tried these and they were very good!!
Service and delivery were excellent. Juices are tasty and have to say, and I can smoothly go through the day without the struggle of hunger. But, what kills me is the amount of sugar. I found a strangely high amount of sugar; even that is fructose.
For beginners, Juicer 1 combo, on-site is written that total of sugar is 161g per day, while, if you look back on the bottles and calculate-it comes to a total of 176g. When asked at site support about this-they said it’s because of the cucumber. OMG-100g of cucumber has 1,7g of sugar.
Strange, or at least I didn’t find, that you can see the back of the bottles nowhere on the site, with nutrition declaration.
So, I am not hungry but feeling overwhelmed by sugar. Not very happy about not complete nutrition’s fact provided, even less with support and story about cucumbers.
A little break down per bottle would be fair info; here, you can see sugar content in each bottle:
Morning | Vanilla Almond -- 23g
Afternoon | Citrus 2 -- 49g
Mid-Morning | Greens 2 -- 28g
Night | Chocolate Almond – 20g
Later Afternoon | Greens 3 – 27g
Noon | Roots 2 – 29g
Also, on the back of the bottle, there is no info about Vitamin A or C, but on-site is written that total for combo 1 is 672.6% Vitamin A | 192% Vitamin C.
Well, why to believe as obviously sugar facts are not correctly pre3sented.
