Side Braid Hairstyle Tutorial For Working Out

I filmed my first YouTube Beauty Tutorial this week featuring one of my favorite hairstyles for straight hair and working out. I’ve worn it in numerous videos and to many events. It’s my go-to when I have to shoot or be at an event early and will be there all day. With long straight hair, it tends to get greasy if I just leave it down. If I just pull it back into a ponytail, I’m constantly redoing it and by the end if I want to go out dinner, my coif screams “dirty hair.” This hair-do is perfect for transitioning into a night time look. You can do this on wet or dry hair.

IMG 6920I will often take out the bun and tie a tiny elastic around the braid to let my hair down. The bun gives it a nice wavey look. You can of course skip the bun and just make a pony as well.

Thanks for the video. I’ve been wondering how to do a side braid like that. I tried it,and it’s pretty easy!

Love this braid! Will definitely be trying it for workouts. Can never get that hair out of my face because its not long enough in the front to fit in the ponytail! Thanks

Love this look! I’m in the military and its always a pain to go from early morning workouts to working throughout the day without changing my hair- this style is perfect for both!

This is super cute for day time and at the gym:) I’m always looking for new ways to throw my hair back but still look presentable 🙂
