That Banana Soft-Serve Ice Cream Recipe

Do you love ice cream but wish there was a low-calorie, clean version to make quick when a craving strikes? If you are looking for a recipe with more protein and less carbs, this is the banana soft serve for you!

Two week ago, I filmed a video called the Ice Cream Sundae Workout. It has nothing to do with ice cream, but you will feel the burn so much that you will feel like you deserve one after you finish. I suggest in the video to avoid a traditional sundae and instead opt for mine, directing people to click on a link in the more info. If you follow other healthy living blogs, you might already know that 5 other bloggers have posted their own versions of this recipe since I shot the video!

I should have known being the middle of summer but regardless, here is my favorite ice cream soft serve featuring the signature frozen banana as well. Mine, I believe is different because I have added protein powder to my soft serve. When I track my intake during the day, I notice I always am low on calories coming from protein by the end of the day and meet my suggested carbohydrate intake. This way, the powder adds volume without more carbs.

High Protein Banana Soft Serve

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Frozen Banana
  • 1 Tbsp Protein Powder (Chocolate or Vanilla)
  • 3 Tbsp Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • optional few drops of NuNaturals stevia

Directions:

Add ingredients together in a bowl. Using a food processor or hand blender, combine ingredients until they create a smooth like soft-serve consistency. Add slivered almonds for crunch. Want a sundae? Melt some peanut butter in a small dish and drizzle on top!

I know there are a few variations of this recipe, but this is the only one that I make. I would love to hear your own version down below!

I always make it like that 😀 The protein powder gives amazing flavour. However, I don’t always like it with banana. So, sometimes I use frozen strawberries or something. The only thing is; it will be more like a smoothie then! But that’s also fine by me 🙂

I like frozen banana, dates, vanilla bean, and a little almond milk. I never think to put protein powder in, but I’m totally doing that from now on. Great idea!

I make this all the time, but without the protein powder, and it is the perfect alternative to ice cream.
