It was requested on YouTube that I do another video featuring what I eat in a typical day. While no two days are the same really, I decided to share with you one of my cleaner days with my viewers. Don’t forget to subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already for new videos every week!
A few people asked how many calories in total did I consume and to be honest, I hate counting. I always try to do it but I’m not trying to lose weight, I just don’t care. Also, some people commented already on YouTube that it wasn’t a lot of food. If I eat a lot the day before, the next day I just am not as hungry. So yes, while this was enough for me on Monday, that doesn’t necessarily mean it would again the following week.
I love portion controlled trail mix and Perfect Fit protein powder to throw in my Tone It Up shaker water bottle. Quick and portable are the way to go when preparing to pack your snacks for the day.
Today, I brought with me the same snacks as in the video but instead of the protein bar, I have a Mini Babybel Mozzarella to eat on my walk home after Bar Method class. The 6 g of protein help repair my muscles so that I can get stronger and recover faster. A fast recovery is important so that your muscles can repair themselves and be ready for another workout tomorrow! While my walk home is just 20 minutes, I make dinner when I get home and don’t end up eating until 8 pm usually, which is often over an hour later. To best utilize post workout nutrition, it should be consumed without 20-30 minutes after you finish. The Babybel is just 50 calories so it doesn’t spoil my dinner like big protein bars.
Both days have been gluten free as well, unintentionally. I don’t tag my meals as gluten free but as a part of the Udi’s Gluten Free community, I have been become more aware of how important it can be for someone with celiac disease. If you eat a gluten free diet, check out the community on Udi’s Gluten Free website for advice, recipes, meal ideas and the latest news.
Do you find this type of video interesting?
Sometimes I do get curious of what people eat. Is it weird? ๐ And it’s always nice to learn new things. ๐
*Love your necklace, BTW! ๐
I like videos like this to help get ideas and see what new products are out there!
This is really helpful! I would love to see a separate post on how you use protein powder in your diet, before/after exercise, etc. I have never tried it and really want to try the Perfect Fit protein powder from the Tone It Up girls, so I’m really curious as to how to integrate it into my daily eating and exercising habits.
How often do you have wine with dinner? Thanks for the video.
I love these types of videos because it gives me new ideas (especially for healthy snacks). You’ve shown the Ripe Stuff several times, but I don’t live anywhere near Boston, and I can’t find a juice company similar to them in Denver (with Colorado being such a healthy, active state this was kind of shocking). There seems to be one under way, but I’m not sure when it will open. Do you have recommendations for store bought options? I know whole foods sells them and Starbucks has the evolution line, but I thought I’d ask you for your opinion.
Love this! Always great to have some new meal ideas.
I do the hot water with lemon in the am and night too! But I add fresh ginger!
Thanks for sharing ๐
I loved your video! I am new to your blog and am trying to be better about what I eat and just staying healthy. I am looking forward to seeing new posts from you and hope it helps me stay motivated. I am 50 years old and it is getting harder to keep the pounds off. So I know that I have to focus on my eating and workouts a bit more. I also just started doing the lemon water in the morning and really enjoy it. Thanks for all your wonderful little tips!
Thanks Kathleen! Welcome to the blog ๐ Hope to inspire new healthy habits ๐
