YouTube Workout Music Playlist Winter 2012

On Sunday, I am running my very first half marathon. I signed up yesterday! I was planning on running the Nike Half in San Francisco before I learned about Kona. I continued my training and was hopeful I would find a half that would fit my schedule. With only 40 spots left, I paid the fee and am now running the All Women & One Lucky Guy Half Marathon in Newburyport.

To my surprise, there are a few SarahFit.com readers who are running too! I’m pretty excited about this since I love meeting readers in real life. I ran 6 miles today and will be taking it easy from now until race day. All that is left to do is create myself one mean playlist. For help, I reached out on Facebook to see what all of you are enjoying these days. Here is a combination of your suggestions as well as my favorites!

I Cry by Flo Rida

Anything Could Happen by Ellie Goulding

It’s Time by Imagine Dragons

Life by Beckah Shae

Sweet Nothing ft Florence Welch by Calvin Harris

Shooting Star by Owl City

Paris (Ooh La La) by Grace Potter and The Nocturnals

Other no brainer top hits and forever favorites:

Highly Recommended by Readers: Promises by Nero

We Are Never Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift

Gangnam Style by Psy

Dog Days Are Over by Florence and the Machine

Lose Yourself by Eminem

Jetsetter by Morningwood

I recently downloaded a few new albums from iTunes and here are my other favorite songs that are good for running:

I Need Your Love by Ellie Goulding

Blown Away by Carrie Underwood

Some Nights by FUN

Only You by Ellie Goulding

Here are all the videos in one playlist below for your convenience:

Not Bad! Whatever keeps that blood flowing! ; )

I love running to Nero. The whole “Welcome Reality” album. It’s very climactic!

My Favs are “Me & You” and “My Eyes”. Add them!

Good luck at the half! I’m so late to the party on this song, but I love “All I Do Is Win” for workouts. I don’t know how I missed it when it came out initially, but it’s on all my workout playlists now!

Did you go to the 9:30 AM Class? I actually went to the 8 AM class but ran 4 miles before and 2 after 🙂 I’m crazy, I know.

Enjoy your first HM! I finished mine about 2 weeks ago and although I was well prepared it was quite hard! Make sure to to arrange your playlist with care– a good music selection (and especially the order) can save you a lot of time during the run (otherwise you will waste time toggling through the music to find your favorite spice girls song like me 😉 ).
I wrote a short report about my thoughts at every km. I don’t know how helpful it is but maybe it can give you a hint of what will expect you:
