This week is going to fly by! I’m so excited. I’m going to NYC tomorrow for an event being held by Fitness Magazine called Fitness Blogger Meet and Tweet (#FitBlogNYC). I’m excited to meet all the incredible voices behind some of my favorite blogs and catch up with some old friends. Joe Dowdell will also be speaking, who I haven’t seen since my “All You Can Eat” license was called out last September if you recall…
Before the meet and tweet on Wednesday, I am scheduled to hang with my long lost fitness babe of a friend, Katrina. I’m writing it on here so she can’t bail on me! You might know Katrina from the unstoppable duo of Tone It Up. Katrina got her YouTube start with me on DietHealth videos on YouTube.
I’ll be heading back home in time to make it to another event at the Reebok Headquarters on Friday! My videographer is going to be joining me so I’m super excited about sharing the experience via my niche.
First, Reebok sent over some swag in a cute purple backpack, to which Roomie asked “Are you in 4th grade?” I think it’s cute and I’m loving the black and white sneakers. I’m excited to do CrossFit and not be forced to complete the standard the intro workout, Baseline. I want an actual CrossFit workout and I’m hoping Reebok, as the official sponsor, brings it!
In regards to the trip to Canton, I’m feeling a little nervous. My father worked for Reebok most of my life. I used to go with him to work all the time. I was even on the news once as part of a ‘Take You Daughter To Work Day’ feature. I’m preparing for some weird deja vu.
Random fact: I wasn’t allowed to wear other sneaker brands until I reached High School!
That means, I wasn’t able to participate in the Samba craze of 4th grade. It was a tough time in my life. I think my first non-Reebok pair of sneakers were Sketchers in 7th grade. My mother’s wardrobe during the 80’s and early 90’s also consisted solely of Reebok warm-up track suits. I imagine this would be my wardrobe had black yoga pants never been invented. One of my dad’s former bosses actually left Reebok to help start up Lululemon in the early days in Vancouver… Thank god.
Needless to say, I’m extremely enthusiastic about my week.
The REAL Skinny Margarita
On Cinco De Mayo, I had a baby shower at 11 AM in the ‘burbs. By night time, I was exhausted from the driving and indulging. When I got home late, I texted Roomie that I wanted a margarita. We didn’t have any supplies so I assumed we would go out to celebrate. Instead he made one up for me that was the most delicious tasting margaritas I have ever had.
Using a fresh grapefruit and lemon, tequila, NuNaturals Stevia Orange Drops, soda water and JCore Zero Calorie Metabolism Boosting Drink mix (you can substitute a lemonade powder drink mix), I was handed the most Sarah Fit approved drink ever and I didn’t even create it myself. It was created with ingredients I bought and have daily however. I wanted to share with you the recipe, but Roomie said it’s top secret. All I can share is that, it can be done using just these ingredients…
I use NuNaturals probably every single day in my coffee, banana ice cream or oatmeal. They sent me the new orange and lemon flavored drops last week. This is the first time I’ve used them and was blown away.
They may not have intentionally created them to mix with alcohol but they may just have found a new job in my kitchen. I’m giving away both bottles to 4 readers. To enter all you have to do is leave a comment below this post. You can find NuNaturals here on Facebook for amazing sugar-free recipes. My favorite dessert blogger Chocolate Covered Katie is a fan and uses their products all the time in her recipes!
Products cannot be shipped to a PO Box. You can also get a 15% discount on all other products using code BLG0612 which will work until June 30th, 2012. This is my favorite Stevia, hands down and have been using it for over 2 years. It’s also sold in Whole Foods. Place your order here – www.nunaturals.com and receive free shipping to the continental U.S. on all order over $35.00 after discounts.
Questions of the Day
- What is the best skinny cocktail you have ever tried? Where was it, or did you make it yourself?
- Do you feel anxious when you have to go back to places that were once so familiar when you were young like your hometown or old neighborhood?
I keep stevia drops (vanilla flavored) at my desk for my coffee and oatmeal! I haven’t tried NuNaturals, I just use a generic brand from a local health food store, but I’d love to check it out.
PS -- I can’t believe you didn’t love Arctic Zero!!!!!!! Sorry to lead you astray 🙂
I thought it was really good! It wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever had but I would totally buy it again!
1. Applebee’s makes a SUPER DELICIOUS skinny version of a Mojito that I am OBSESSED with! I make virgin ones at home.
2. I live in my Hometown, same city, never left this county. My middle school is gone, my high school isn’t a place I have to go yet, so I don’t really have the anxiety of visiting long ago places.
3. (I know there wasn’t a #3) I am SO FREAKING JEALOUS of the trips to Fit Blog conferences you guys get to go to and of all the awesome swag you guys get! I wanna go to the Fitbloggers Conference in Colorado SO FREAKING BAD, but we’re broke and live in FL, so no walking and crashing. lol
I would love to try the stevia drops! Been thinking about making the switch to it from regular sugar for a while but haven’t taken the plunge yet — this would be a great excuse to start 🙂
I would love to try the new flavors. I just recently bought the plain liquid stevia and it was not bad had been using the powder form and just could not get over the weird aftertaste in my mouth but the liquid is the way to go I think (only used it once since I just got it)
The best skinny cocktail I’ve ever had was on my honeymoon in St. Lucia. It was just fresh mango, fresh strawberries, and rum! So sad I will NEVER be able to recreate it--their fruit is the best I’ve ever tasted.
I grew up on a farm outside of a town of about, oh, 150 people at the most, so going back home to me is wonderful. I’ve known everyone my entire life!
Been trying to cut down on all the sugar in my diet I have been following the eat clean diet but finding the sugar is hard to cut out, those stevia drops ive wanted to try for so long!
I cannot tell you how many of these giveaways I have entered!! I want to try these so badly!!!
That margarita looks incredible! My version of a skinny margarita is tequila, crystal light margarita mix, water and ice! It’s only about 70 calories, and the crystal light actually is pretty good. But I’d be interested to try yours -- more natural than the mix I use.
I would love to try these! I’ve been trying to cut out as much sugar as I can in my diet, but finding it a little more difficult than I had anticipated!
I like to mix vodka with soda water and fresh fruit, the best for me is blackberries! Mashed blackberries, vodka, soda water, a splash of lime juice and some mint leaves. So refreshing! Or skinny Moscow Mules, with natural ginger ale mixed with vodka, limes and mint or sage leaves. Vodka is the alcohol of choice for me!
I moved to San Diego 2 years ago but I was born and raised in Italy and my family lives there. I get very sentimental when I see a show on TV where they go to Italy, or even during some cooking shows if the chef is Italian! LOL I am so ridiculous! I love going home to visit friends and family and see the places that are so familiar to me.
Say hi to Katrina! I am a TIU member and I love the girls. Have fun at your events!
I would absolutely love to try NuNaturals. I’m in college so trying to be cheap keeps me from buying things like that!
I always get anxious when I go back home because I always wonder what people are going to say and think about me! Anways, going to Reebok sounds like soo much fun! I’m jealous you get to try out cool workout programs and get rad swag!!
What?!?! I never even knew this stuff existed! I would love to give it a try. I am new to your channel/blogs and love it so far. Keep up the good work.
Would love to try this much talked about product. I think they would find a permanent home in my pantry!!!!
I love natural recipes and stevia sounds like something I might start using, thank you for sharing.
The best skinny cocktail I’ve had would be the skinny margaritas at El Torito. I tried once and it was SO delicious!
Go back home always causes me to have anxiety. Whether it’s stopping by the drug store or going to the market, I am always bound to run into someone I know from my past. Sometimes good run-ins, sometimes awkward ones, but whichever the case it’s always worth seeing my family and being able to visit them.
P.S. Your blog is truly an inspiration and since stumbling upon it, my lifestyle has completely changed for the better! Thank you so much!
Thanks you Jessica! I’m glad it’s helped you 🙂 I always have anxiety going back because my family doesn’t like in my hometown anymore and it’s awkward! Ugh. I’m glad a few people commented that they are like me lol. I was starting to think I was in the very slim minority.
I don’t feel anxious when I have to go back to places I used to go but I do get anxious when I think a lot of people I used to know (from school) would be there. Reunion style. Freaks me out.
i love stevia and would love to win:)
As a twenty something myself drinking is the blemish is my healthy diet. I would love more ideas how to keep my drink calories down without giving them up!
If you give it up, you’ll lose a few pounds. If you start again, you will gain the back. I chose quality of life and I really like wine, and having a few with my friends so I’ve cut back in other things. It’s balance. We all have our vice, and I’m ok being 5 lbs heavier and being able to enjoy my nights out with a few drinks 🙂
i must admit that i have never tried stevia before so i would love to win some so i could experiment with some recipes… and i definitely agree with you, chocolate covered katie is awesome!
I absolutely love stevia, which I have just recently started using but i have never tried the liquid drops.. Ive never even actually seen them So I would love to try this! Ive had “Skinny girl” margaritas before that are good though.. I love all your recipes by the way. I guess I feel that all the nunatural stuff is so expensive 🙁
I would love to try the NuNaturals in my coffee! My #1 favorite skinny drink is a Stoli Doli. Its just vodka soaked in pineapples for a few days… then shake with ice and pore in a martini glass…yummy but potent!
I will be at the Fitness Mag event in NYC!! This is my first blogger event, so I am kind of nervous but excited all at the same time! I am also looking forward to meeting all the great bloggers attending, including you! Hopefully we will be able to meet.
I always get nervous when I go back to visit my college. It was such a huge part of my life I think I get scared that it won’t be the same…I don’t want to ruin all the amazing memories I have.
Oh p.s. NuNaturals sounds like it would be fun to play around with in other cocktails 🙂 I’ll have to give it a try!
I am boring with my drinks -- I stick to vodka sodas, but I’d love to try the NuNaturals to make my own skinny cocktails!
I’ve never tried the stevia drops or drops of any sweetener for that matter. It would be nice to use this to try in some recipes I have been eyeing lately!
I have never heard of these nunaturals but am looking forward to trying it in my daily cup of coffee!!!
I would love to try the citrus NuNaturals! My favorite skinny cocktail is club soda, flavored vodka, and fresh grapefruit juice…so simple, but so good! Also works with tequila 🙂 (and would probably be even better with some orange NuNaturals stevia drops…)
I’ve been wanting to order nunaturals for a while but haven’t gotten around to it…been using Truvia from the store. The orange flavor sounds delicious!
I’ve heard of these drops before but I haven’t tried them yet-- they sound really good! I would love to have them to add to my protein pancakes and smoothies. But do you find that the fake sugar gives you cravings for more sugar at all? I’ve been wanting to cut more calories by using sugar substitutes, but I’m worried that it will mess up my appetite.
And yeah, going “back home” is always sort of a weird experience. But it is always better when you have your life together and look good 🙂
I try using flavoured vodka with diet lemonade or Sprite zero to make my drink more interesting…. but I bet the flavoured stevia drops taste yum! If you throw in a few slices of apple with apple vodka and some Sprite zero surely its a healthy drink!! Haha!! (Must be if you can count it as one of your five a day!!)
Or, gin with a dash of elderflower juice and diet soda water is really refreshing and yummy!
Been dying to try these! Have seen them on a few blogs about how great they are in a variety of ways- love their versatility!!
I just found your blog a few days ago and I love it! I would love to try that new flavors of Nunaturals, they sound yummy!
I have never tries a skinny cocktail unless sf redbull and vodka count. I read some where that you can add crystal light cocktail flavors to alcohol and soda water for a frugal and skinny drink.
I’ve never had liquid Stevia before! I’ve always used Stevia In the Raw, it works perfectly! But I would definitely love to give NuNaturals a try…
My go-to drink is the classic G&T, so to make a skinny version, I just use diet tonic water!
I would love to try this brand of Stevia drops. I use them every day in my tea.
I’d actually like to try these!! I don’t usually like things with Stevia in them, but maybe as a drop form I could control the amount and it would be better 🙂
Mmm Triple Eight blueberry vodka, club soda, and some lemon!
Would you let me know what you think of the new Reeboks? Have tried them on but not purchased yet…have heard they were great for training type purposes! Any input would be great!
Thanks!
I love her website too and all the cool and low calorie dessert options ! This is a perfect giveaway!
I love this post!! I have so much to say!
1) I’ve always wanted to try Crossfit — I’m so jealous of your swag! I know you’ll rock it. If I could afford it in addition to my regular gym membership (which I would never get rid of — how would I run when the weather is bad w/out the treadmil?), I would totally join the gym here.
2) NuNaturals is THE BEST!!! I have the regular stevia, and I put it in everything, but I’m going to have to get some of those drops. I’ll definitely be using that coupon.
3) The best skinny cocktail I’ve ever had: My sister-in-law to be’s boyfriend (mouthful) used to be a bartender at the best Mexican restaurant and it was a tradition last summer that we would all go there after the pool on the weekends and have a cocktail or two. The most popular choice was the “Bad Juan” which was a really excellent margarita — most likely the best I’ve ever had, but I knew it was a calorie bomb, so I would rarely get one. Well, one day he invented a version called the “Skinny Juan” and it was JUST as good (with much less guilt). I can’t say exactly what was in it, but the restaurant has since closed so I’m really going to miss those drinks this summer!!
I love all stevia drops and use them in smoothies, oatmeal, coffee etc-- i’ve tried vanilla, english toffee, chocolate, cinnamon-- but have always been a little nervous to try a fruit flavored one so id love to test this one out to make new concoctions!
You should try Drink Skinny Margarita Mixes! They’re the ONLY all natural, low cal cocktail mixers made with real juices & fruit purees, and sweetened with stevia (no preservatives, no sugar and only 15-30 calories.) We have a line of three flavors: original (lime), pineapple mango, and pomegranate blueberry, and they make dozens of other drinks besides margaritas (including cosmos, mojitos, and pina coladas!)
PS The black Reebox are adorable--I need a pair!
sounds delicious! hope i win!

Well, NuNaturals is most preferable by me. I always keep that with me. Orange and Lemon flavors are good. I tried Lemon flavor with my Ice Tea and early Lime water after coming back from gym.
I would like to try this! I tried to cut out as much sugar as I can in my diet, but finding it a little harder than I expected!
