As a personal trainer and full time fitness vlogger, I have drawers full of athletic apparel. There are certain items that are always on top, and ones that rarely see the light of day after a single use.
I’m very picky about my fabrics, which makes online shopping extremely challenging. The material can’t be itchy. I’ve had this problem with a few sports bras and yoga pants. After a single wash, if the waistband starts to lose its elasticity, that’s another bad sign. I like my tops long, soft and gently form-fitting. Why wear a top that makes you look like you could potentially be pregnant when you have a flat stomach? If I can find something that is comfy and flattering at the same, then I wear the item relentlessly until I lose it, or stain it. I’m forgetful and clumsy.
I recently got this ultimate twist hoody in blast purple above from adidas when I was out there in June. It has yet to be chilly to wear it for working out but it has quickly become my summer evening pull over go to. If the temperature drops below 75, it immediately gets thrown on. The longer silhouette is not only comfortable but also flattering. The sleeves have thumb holes and there is even a hoodie to keep your hair dry if it drizzles outside. The green and purple colors are also super cute. The material is not too heavy that you feel overheated but just right.
Last weekend, my friend Maggie tried to help me take some pictures of my favorite pieces. This here is my model pose which really looks like I’m fixing my shirt for the picture. How do the fashion bloggers do cute poses? I need a lesson or two. I’m so awkward. Anyway, I’m wearing the boyfriend double v-neck tee above and the boyfriend live-in capri. The T-shirt is super light weight and drapes loosely on your body for a comfortable and flattering casual look that you can wear outside the gym. The pants are meant to be lived in, seriously. They have a bit of a following on Pinterest too in grey. They are very light weight and can be worn scrunched up or pulled down. Due to the weight of the fabric, these just might be the most flattering sweat pants you’ve ever worn.
Since I rarely sweat in these types of clothes, I hardly even put them in the wash. This means, they are always available and they get worn the most out of my athletic wardrobe. What pieces of clothes do you wear the most from your athletic wardrobe?
