The Perfect Baked Sweet Potato Fries

I think I finally mastered the perfect baked sweet potato french fry recipe. It’s simple and delicious. There is one ingredient that I found to season them perfectly. ONE.

I like them crispy, slightly burned with a kick. To achieve this, preheat your oven at 400F. Next, slice up the sweet potatoes with the skin on (or off if you prefer, but I like them with) very thin. The smaller the better in my opinion. Grab a large mixing bowl and toss in the slices. Spray with some extra virgin olive oil or 1 tbsp of olive oil, add in sea salt, pepper, and all spice. I don’t measure but use your own discretionary. It’s a seasoning, use it like you would salt and pepper. I use McCormick because Trader Joe’s doesn’t carry all spice sadly enough. It is the secret ingredient to perfect sweet potato fries. I also like to add a dash of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for spice but it’s not necessary to make the fries taste amazing. Coat each piece well, shaking and tossing the potato fries in the bowl like a kitchen professional. Place in the oven for 12 minutes on a greased cookie sheet. Turn over onto opposite side and cook for another 10 minutes of fries have reached desired crispiness depending on your oven.

I paired the fries with baked BBQ chicken. I put the chicken right in with the fries while they were cooking as well as frozen broccoli with sliced red onion in it’s own glass. I used Garlic Gold with Parmesan to season the veggie. ย Baked Sweet Potato Fries with All Spice

Of course I added extra BBQ sauce for dipping my chicken and fries into. This is one of my favorite dinners. It takes a little bit of prep time cutting the potatoes, but everything else is pretty easy once it’s in the oven.

Let me know below if you have used all spice before making your sweet potato fries! If you haven’t, you must try it. So good!

Trader Joe’s (at least down by me in the DC area) carries an all-spice called “21 Season Salute” and it’s really good. I used it on my own baked sweet potato fries just the other night! I highly recommend it if you can find it.

All spice is actually different! It’s literally a spice called all spice, nota combination of spices. I have the 21-salute too though and is good… But not as tasty as all spice ๐Ÿ™‚

I had the EXACT same dinner last night! Yum. Sweet potato fries are so easy & so yum! I prefer mine slightly burnt & chewy as well. I’ve never tried the AllSpice but will add it into my mix. Thanks for the tip ๐Ÿ™‚

McCormick’s Cuban Seasoning is so good on sweet potato fries! That’s my “secret” ingredient. If you want thicker wedges, but don’t want to have to cook them in the oven forever, boil the potato for 10-12 first to get it soft, then cut and cook in a pan. Easy peasy.
