ENABLING YOUR PASSION FOR HEALTHY LIVING

I just don’t look like myself

I started quite a stir on Instagram yesterday posting a make up less, non smile selfie outfit of the day image.

Fabletics reached out to me to see if I wanted to wear/test their clothes. After the Ellie fiasco, I’ve been hesitant when it comes to monthly box companies. I do love StitchFix so I decided to give them a try.

Everything I’m wearing in the photo above is under $50. The quality in my opinion, matches the price, which is a good thing! The pants have great reviews online probably for that reason and I agree they are comfy. Note, the smalls are a little long for my 5’5″ frame. They feel ideal for yoga, Pilates and Barre – all my non-sweaty favorites. The tops are also from Fabletics. The black long sleeve top is tightly fitted and perfect to layer over my tanks in the winter, I’ve worn it three days in a row.  It would also be good to wear skiing as a base layer. The shrug is also really comfortable and flattering.

They have a monthly VIP membership but I’m a little confused as to how it works. If you want to sign up, that is your own decision. A few readers below mentioned good experiences but you can purchase items separately and unlike Ellie, the prices are only $5-10 more without the monthly commitment. Quality is better than Forever 21 and Old Navy athleticwear but below Lululemon in my opinion – which makes the price point work.

Speaking of Lulu… doesn’t this top look like it was made by them? It’s not! It’s by Nike and I spotted it in City Sports this weekend. I was shocked to see the sneaker giant taking style cues from them.

On Monday and Tuesday this week, I fit in workouts after teaching at Barry’s Bootcamp, even sharing my first selfie of 2014. The above photo was my second. I think the reason people didn’t recognize me above is because I’m not smiling?! I never post serious face pictures I guess… IMG_6014

In class, I’ve been using the Armour39 heart rate monitor. I’m reviewing it for a campaign with Fitfluential. The first chest strap they sent me at first wasn’t sending a strong enough heart rate signal to my phone via Bluetooth which was frustrating. Luckily, UA sent out a new strap and it’s now working great. I’m testing it out in various places like spin class, Barry’s and running outdoors. I love how popular geeky activity tracking has become. Full review will be up tomorrow, leave questions below if you have them though.

In keeping with healthy habits, on Monday night I made a batch of Buffalo Chicken Meatloafs from PaleOMG’s recipe. These are so good. I could eat 3 or 4 of them in one sitting, but held back to just 2. I might try to make them into meatballs for the Superbowl as a healthy alternative.

For a side, I roasted Brussels sprouts with some olive oil and prosciutto for 25 minutes at 350F.

Do you think the top picture looks like me, and if not, why? I don’t see it really.
